The Ideal Orthodox Woman - Introduction

Have you ever Googled “ideal Orthodox Christian woman”?
Well I have - so you don’t have to.
It was enlightening.
I didn’t even click on that many articles or videos. I got a lot just from reading through the websites, article titles and video titles that popped up. A few main themes emerged in the search results.
Most of the results defaulted to questions and answers about being the ideal Orthodox wife or mother. As a matter of fact, almost all the answers on those first couple of pages involved marriage - and every mention of marriage, automatically assumed children.
There were even lots of men asking or talking about, “what to look for in a wife”. (Are all those men asking what they need to do to be a good Orthodox husband?)
There was a lot about modesty - how to dress, how not to draw attention to oneself, how to quietly support a spouse and selflessly raise children.
There were a few mentions of single women… those were all nuns - as though one must be either coupled up or banished to a …
